What Does "S.W.I.F.T." Mean?

To provide each athlete the opportunity to reach his or her full potential by both developing athletic speed, endurance, and strength and encouraging high self-esteem, personal accountability, self-discipline, goal setting, and goal achievement. Desoto SWIFT seeks to develop well-rounded individuals who learn not only the ground rules of athletic training but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character.

Mission Statement

1999 – 

DESOTO SWIFT TRACK CLUB Founded in 1999, by Head Coach/President Kevin Dozier a Texas A&M University scholarship track member and graduate of the Aggie Class of 1994.

2001 – The team expanded to 48 members in just 3 years, 
2004 – DESOTO SWIFT TRACK CLUB received their first Junior Olympic medalist, Myron Turner Jr.
2008 After 10 years in existence, DESOTO SWIFT TRACK CLUB hosted the 1st annual Memorial Weekend Classic Track Meet.

2012 –

DESOTO SWIFT TRACK CLUB member Lamarq Davis breaks the national record in 400m for Sub Youth boys. 

A bit of our story

The DESOTO SWIFT TRACK CLUB is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit youth summer track organization. We are a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Southwestern Association and USA Track & Field Southwestern Association (USATF). Sanctioned by the Desoto Parks and Recreation Department, the DESOTO SWIFT TRACK CLUB, with the help of a host of dedicated volunteer coaches and support staff, serve the youth of Desoto and surrounding areas.
